Chapter 7. How to define your Network

  7.1 Creating a CIDR block

The first step to creating a CIDR network is adding the network subnet and network bits. To manage networks within phpIP, click on the Admin Console menu item. Clicking CIDR Add will bring up a new form. The first two fields, Network Subnet and Description are the only two fields that require your input beyond the defaults.

After saving your new network, you should be redirected to a form with the listed prefixes based on your network and network bits. Click on the checkbox to add the defined prefix to the CIDR block.

After saving your new prefixes, you should be redirected back to the CIDR Add form to repeat the process.

7.2 Assigning a name to your CIDR block

You have the option of adding a name to describe your CIDR block. Clicking Description Update under CIDR Remove will bring up a new form.

Click the CIDR block that you wish to change the description.

Update the Description field with the new description, click save.

After saving, you should be redirected back to the description form to repeat the process.

7.3 Adding Prefixes to your CIDR block

Clicking Prefix Add will bring up a list of avalible CIDR blocks. Click on the CIDR block you wish to add prefixes to, this will bring up a list of Prefixes to choose from.

Click on the checkbox to add the defined prefix to the CIDR block.

7.4 Assigning a name to your Prefixes

You have the option of adding a name to describe your Prefix. Clicking Description Update under Prefix Remove will bring up a new form.

After saving, you should be redirected back to the description form to repeat the process.

7.5 Removing a CIDR block

To remove a CIDR block click on CIDR Remove. This will display the CIDR blocks, click on the block that you would like to remove from phpIP.

After removing your CIDR block, you should be redirected back to the CIDR Remove form to repeat the process.

7.6 Removing Prefixes from your CIDR block

To remove a prefix click on Prefix Remove. This will display the Prefixes, click on the block that you would like to remove from phpIP.

After removing your Prefixes, you should be redirected back to the Prefix Remove form to repeat the process.
